I'm a 16 year old, and in the middle of my 11th grade year. School has been a nightmare. I can't stand that pressure of it, i can't stand the stupid rules there, and i can't stand the teachers who care about nothing else but get their paycheck. i currently go to a Williamsville school district in NY. My grades are so low that it will take a miracle to put them up. I like to learn new things, but not in school. I don't like the immature people that go to my school. School is making my life h**l. I was wondering if there were any other people that are homeschooled in williamsville. What are the rules of it, costs, etc... by the way, My mom is all for it, she's willing to go through homeschooling, because she sees that school is just tearing me appart. I need some suggestions Please.

  1. You can Check out home school laws governing all fifty states at Home school legal defense association.

  2. Research what it entails to be homeschooled. It's a good idea to do this because that way you can make sure all the proper steps are taken so you can get your diploma when you are done. Homeschooling sounds like a good idea for you since school life is so bad, and sorry to hear that it is for you.

Best of luck to you, sweetie  =)

  4. That is a personal choice. I think it is an very good option. Maybe homeschool will reawaken your love of learning. Good luck!

  5. If you cant handle getting along with an entire school, how will you survive in the world after school??

I think the problem isnt school. Your grades aren't good, and that is entirely up to you. You can't stand the rules - wake up, there are rules everywhere. If you can't handle the few rules at school, then how will you control yourself in the workplace - where there are even more rules?

You need to take a real good, honest look at your part in all this. Life is usually a result of what you put into it. It sounds to me like you aren't putting much into it, and trying to make it everyone else's fault - the teachers don't care, the kids are immature, the rules are stupid - do you hear yourself?

You are coming quickly into adulthood, time to start taking responsibility for yourself and your actions.

  6. I was in the exact same situation as you 4 months ago. I was a freshman in MN and I HATED public school, kids were cruel, immature and my grades were suffering too. I heard about on-line MN virtual high school so I started researching it and it sounded like a great idea. My parents were all for it since they knew I hated school. Now I'm enrolled on-line and LOVE it...I was getting a D+ in Geometry and now for a final grade I got a B. I was getting a C in Spanish and now I'm at an A. And I was getting a D in physical science and now I'm at a B as well. I love how you get to have the freedom of choosing your lessons for the day, no dumb teachers or students to deal with, and best of all you get to finish the classes at your own pace (although I do have a deadline of 120 days for each class) so I usually finish early. Now I'm hoping to graduate early so I can go to collage early. I hope I helped, below are some links for on-line high schools. You should be able to find a virtual high school in your area and they are usually fast to enroll into, I got enrolled in a week. Oh and just make sure the high school is accredited.

  7. well I am home schooled and I am a 14 year old in ninth grade, I went out of high school after I went for 3 weeks and started homeschooling because of the same reasons as you, teachers only caring about their paychecks and gangsters in my school that wear loose pants and hold their shirt up when ever they walk. what I do is I babysit my baby sister during the day and do the course work when she is taking a nap and during the evening when my mom comes home from work, and I do the rest during the weekend, both of my parents go to work and I can do homeschooling, but it will be self directed learning, you can learn at your own pace and ask your parents whenever you dont understand everything, the only thing I dont like is that I cannot see my friends but I didnt have friends in high school anyways. I think that homeschooling will work for you and you dont have to make your mom give your work, you just need to be your own teacher and parents will be your guide, home schooling will not use up as much of your time as regular schooling because of all the time wasted there, like students annoying the teacher and changing classes. I think you will like it, you should check your answers from the back of your book to make sure that you did them correctly

and its not true that you cant socialize anymore after homeschooling, its not like that you will stop going to stores when you start homeschooling
