Whereas Halliburton is one of the crown jewels of the Oil and Gas sector, you still have to keep in mind that the entire sector is going down of late. You know how hard it is to swim upsteam against the current.

Natural Gas and alternative Energy sources such as Wind and Solar are providing much better returns recently.

Yes, HAL and OIH (oil service stocks) will be strong for the foreseeable future.

Be careful to buy incrementally on pullbacks, not at peaks. There will be push/pull in the markets for months to come, and quite possibly longer.  Regardless of other market situations, the oil service companies will be needed and will be in demand.
