  1. You can have a lot of fun, make a lot of friends, party and do charity/volunteer work in college without paying for friends. I am sorry, but my opinion is- what is the point of joining a Sorority? They make you do ridiculous things to get in, and you have to prove you are "worthy enough" to be their friends. I am sorry, but, no thanks.

  2. i have never joined, rushed or participated... But i did look into it when i joined university.

It does look like fun. It looks really benifitial as building a 'family' quickly. Also there is nothing like 'brotherhood' or sisterhood. I say this as an Eagle scout and i love feeling that instant connection with anyone in uniform.

However for me what made me decide against it was the money. It was not worth it to me. For the 2 frats that looked interesting to me they were almost as much as tuition. But mabye there was ways around it, i dont know.

I do know that my friends that are in them would never trade it for the world. They love it and can't imagine college without it. Personally setting $ aside i realized it was not for me. I just didnt want it that bad.

  3. They can be alot of fun, you meet alot of people and end up having TONS of friends.  Just remember to stay focused on what's important which should be your degree.  It was really sad to see people who got more involved in drinking and partying, and eventually ended up trashing their education.  Have fun, just be aware of the consequences if you over do it.

  4. If I were you, I would at least wait until your second semester of college. I had a few friends join a sorority their first semester and they had a really hard time adjusting to the college life. Not to mention the fact that they are very time consuming and you need to give yourself at least a semester to teach yourself how to balance the responsibility of being a college student and trying to make yourself study and stuff like that. I'm sure they are a lot of fun but I just think you need to get used to college first, because it it is a whole different world from high school.
