Should i join?

Question

I'm entering high school in the fall and i want to try out for volleyball. However, i have no experience at all..except playing it in gym class. But, i can serve the ball and i can do other hits.

Do you think i should try out? would i at least make freshmen or jv? im 5'4 ..do u think that is that too short ?

i think you should because volleyball is soooo much fun and it doesnt hurt to try out!

Sure, go for it! I'm only 5'1" and I did well in volleyball. If you can serve well, that will get you far!

If you're in grade 8, you SHOULD definately try volleyball because the teachers cant kick you out.  This will help you notice how the schedule starts to get tight...wake up at 7 and BE THERE to play.....start school at 8: 45....end school at 3...go to gym..play untill 4.  Anyways, its pretty fun.

i think u should. Volley ball is a sport that u can really have fun with, and u learn how to work with others.

go for it.  and if you decide you dont like it then drop it.  that way there arent any "if i only would of joined"  good luck

to get into highschool vball you need to probably

a) have a good overhead serve

b) a great bump

c) an average set

d) a good hit

you are never too short to play volleyball

i'm 5'2, and i'm a libero, the only people that need to be tall are the middles

you should reserch the vball camps in your area. i would suggest going to a clinic or camp

you know it depends on your school. if it's really competitive, honestly probably not. but if you practice a lot over the summer and there arn't many people trying out/ the team isn't that good, you might make it. i recomend camps and maybe some private coaching. 5'4 isn't to short, you wouldn't be a middle blocker but you might pass as an outside. even if that doesn't work the number 1 libero in the nation for like 2006 or some other year, was my coach and she was probably 5'4ish. setting doesn't need height either. hope that helps
