I am 31 years of age, have a Masters in Business Administration degree and interested in someday being( ASVAB 43) an officer in the military. However, I am not certain if I stand a better chance with the Army oppose to the Navy. I am not to thrill about being on the water given that I have lost my twin brother in a boating accident when I was a child; which rendered me the only child. In contrast, given the nature of the Army, I would not have to worry much about being on water, but the inevitable reality of combat. Nevertheless, I am sincere about someday serving my country and having the opportunity of saying that I have done so. Please, if you can provide any sound advice or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  1. first of all im sry about your brother

but once i graduate college i would like to join the marines my dads friend was in afghanistan for 4 months he is in the army and he said the armys  not as exciting as the navy or marine corps would be

so i would join the corps if i were you

  2. the army will put you at great risks and with the navy there's less of a chance you'll get involved in war, if your more of a hands on person then the army is for you

  3. Well just because you join the Navy doesn't mean you'll be on a ship. There's a great possibility but you could also end up being stationed inland. And it really doesn't matter if you're talking combat or not because you'll still get deployed in the Navy also. Talk to recruiters and get various q&a out of the way. See which one you believe will benefit you more in the long run. Good luck and thanks for considering joining.

  4. if i were you i would jump on the opportunity to become a naval aviator, and you could also easily become a warrant officer in the Army and fly helicopters.this is alot of peoples dream job, and not many people get to actually do it so you might as well try.but then again you could join the Marine Corps, become a jet pilot, go through the same training as pilots in the Navy, and you would have the pride of belonging to the brotherhood and by the off chance you were shot down you would be a much more proficient fighter on the ground than any other service would teach you to be.

  5. Well its safe to say with your degree you will be able to start further up than a lot of men and women. My husband is in the Navy so I know more about the Navy than the air force. As far as combat goes men and women in the navy get deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries daily. Another thought you might have shore duty meaning you wont be on a ship. I agree with another person on here, take the time and talk to recruiters of each. Write down some lists of things you like and don't like on each and see which dislikes weigh out the other. Good luck!
