Should i join the royal marines commando or go into the royal engineers but commando trained?

the royal marines has appealed to me for a long time but i don't whether to join the royal engineers but take up commando training and still be able to wear the green beret and commando dagger.

it should be an honour to whear the green beret or red beret but some can not handle having it they become idiots, its not just gaining the beret yes that is a challenge  but  you have to uphold the honour of the beret with pride not arogance

rm the best commando's but that's it,

re a trade & also  you can become a comando, but you can become a comando from any army unit, but  the green beret & dagger can turn alot of people into arshol's but not all 59 ra commando's are a good bunch they dont go around thinking they are better than everyone else

It depends what you want to get out of a life in the forces and what your overall interests are. Being a RM will be purely working in an infantry role, most likely right in the middle of the action at the front line. You'll get the best combat training and some of the best missions. On the other hand, being an engineer would not only mean serving in an infantry role, but also have a skill and being able to build/do things that other infantry roles don't allow for. As you've mentioned, as an engineer, you can still become a commando, so you won't really be missing much. Personally, I'd go engineer - best of both worlds.

I would join RM.  If you want a really cool job you should try and join the SAS.

Talk to those who have been there...done that. Get in touch with who you are and what percentage of time you will be in each division.

in my experience the rmc are a professional well trained unit who show respect for others and whislt very capable behave as one would hope even when out for the night on the other hand re 54 commando are a bunch of drunken tossers who seem to think they are something special because they have commando on thier shoulder they show no respect for anyone or anything
