Should i keep my fishtank light on overnight with betta fry?

they have been free swimming since this morning, and wondered if they need the light on overnight.

P.S. they have been seperated from both mother and father

  1. No, you can switch off the lights. It *is* possible to keep the lights on, but then your fry won't sleep and may stay active and continue feeding. But I don't know if there are any consequences to that.

    Generally, if the male is guarding the fry, then you should keep on the lights so help the male locate eggs fallen from the nest,


  2. i have pet fish so i know that fish really don't need the light. the light is just for your viewing pleasures. and the fish will be fine without their parents i don't think that after there born they really know who their parents are so it doesn't really matter. once the fish are born they grow up on their own and if they are small compared to their parents and still in the same tank watch out some fish are known for eating their young!

  3. no leave the light off if you leave it on they may think its day and they wont get sleep and it may 50% stress them and may leed to death

  4. no, no fish really needs a light they have somewhat sonar but if you want to check on him often in the night you could leave it on...
