  1. of course put socks and get a lil bigger kleets because then it will fell a lil better its just a toe nail ur good dont quit ull thank me wen u go on that feild and heal rlly fast

  2. put a bandaid on it and hop to it son.

You broke a nail and you think you should stop playing ??

I know a guy who broke his foot off the blocks in the 200m at regionals, and he still finished in 3rd.

    BAMF.

Whats wrong with guys these days.

  3. Only your Orthopod (Sports Med Dr.) can make that decision with you. All the best with your injury.  Sometimes toe injuries are career-stoppers.  Iowa's tailback Marvin Lampkin ended a great career with a very serious to injury.  Other toe/foot injuries are possible to "play around".  It's important to reestablish the nail bed, while simultaneously keeping it clean/preventing infection, and furthermore, protecting the tissue from unnecessary reinjury by contact.  You would need to build protection on the outside of your shoe since the more you put INSIDE your shoe, the more pressure it would put on a tender area.  Work with your doctor to design something.  Gelfilm (surgical film) has been used by physicians to aid in buidling / protecting / augmenting the regeneration of the nail/nailbed.  Ask your doctor if he has used it.

I would think padding and taping inside the shoe with a generous dose of disinfectant, and building a thin but protective shelf or bubble that can be taped on the outside toe of your shoe (with a thin gap between the shoe leather and the protective layer) would aid dramatically in preventing pain/reinjury, and allow you to play - if it makes sense from a reward / risk health standpoint.  You'll figure it out.

  4. You should just wrap it with like one of those cloth things....breaking a nail isn't worth stopping yourself from doing something you like.

  5. no... no-one should play football

unless of course they like wearing really tight pants, hugging each other when someone scores, and showering together after the game

    and maybe you do?
