Question:

Should i leave it alone? Friends being immature?

Well a friend of ours has started going out with a girl that one of my friends doesn't like, supposedly because of some middle-school feud(??!).

And now i've been added into a message thread where some of my friends were bitching about this girl. I felt like i was in 6th grade all over again! They were saying things about her and being like 'they should jut berak up blah blah blah' I was actually really annoyed and i said something along the lines of 'Their relationship is none of your business', i tried to say it kind of tactfully though :).. But the the replies i got kind of seemed like my friends were annoyed at me for saying it.

If this other girl was my friend i wouldn't question sticking up for her like that, but i don't even know the girl! And i'm not too close with the guy friend of mine, i wouldn't meddle in his love-life or anything!

Am i wrong to think they're being immature? Supposedly this girl made up some rumor about my friend, and since i don't even know the girl, should i just stick with my friend? ADVICE!

  1. Either get out of the thread or just delete without reading.  This is the worst sort of gossip and always causes bad feelings.  You've already had your say, so stay out of it now.

  2. You did the right thing, and yes they are being childish and mean. You are mature and not afraid to stand up for what you believe in , and thats a certain way of behaving towards others.

You aren't defending the girl as you dont even know her, you are defending her right not to be judged and bullied by a bunch of sheep who are too afraid to stick out from the crowd!

    Good for you.

  3. Well your friend is probably still angry about the feud and is trying to prove herself right by "bitching" about her. I gotta admit it's a bit immature but you can't outright blame her coz then you're going to end up being in between the fight. Just tell your friend that the argument was in the past and she wasn't exactly bothering her again. So she should let go of it.

PS. or maybe your friend has a crush on your other friend who got together with her? *its a boy isnt it? i'm so confused these days*
