  1. Both are going to beneficial to your game. You obviously need the fundamental skills that come along with practicing. Lifting weights will greatly improve your basketball skills too. It will help your shooting, dribbling, defense, etc.

In this day and age, you need to do both. But in order to make a choice, you need to assess your basketball skills and see what you need to improve on. If you have good fundamentals but are having trouble competing physically, then you need to get in the weight room. If you are having trouble with the fundamentals, then you need to get those basic skills before lifting is going to help you.

  2. U should definently focus on practicing. Dribble with your left and make it just as strong as your right hand. Work on your speed and passing. Jump alot of rope so that your coordination and quickness is on point. U can lift, but don't lift too heavy. Work with light weight and do at least 12 to 15 reps per exercise. Also bang out some pushups and situps. Lifting your own body weight is always best. Good luck

  3. both are good but, as a point guard, skills are way important to your game and overall success . . .

  4. i think that you should lift and practice more often..

or if the team you play on has a conditioning thing they do like before basketball season that is always good to do.

they both help you exceed but its not like you have to do both everyday switch days make a cycle out of it..one day lifting one day practice..one day both..you just have to build it up like that..i think you will have a lot of sucess that way..have fun!
