  1. If you''re planning on working in the oilsand then you are likely to be in Fort McMurray. The town does get it's fair share of snow over the winter so I would suggest since you'll likely be working there you open your snow plowing business there also.

Calgary and Edmonton are both saturated with snow powing companies already and with our unpredictable weather you may find yourself not working as regularly as you need to. You would also likely find that people in for Mc are more likely to pay premium for plowing then those in the cities.

As for which city Calgary or Edmonton is better living. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Edmonton real esate prices are definatley below Calgary's as are their rents. If you're wondering about the rest - the cost is the same. Calgary is a faster paced city compared to Edmonton. I live in Edmonton and recommend it just for the cost factor alone. People are friendly, lots to do and see. You can always reasearch both cities.

  2. Calgary - bigger city, more roads.  However, weather has been unpredictable in this province and we do not get the get a "real" winter anymore - less snow, warmer days.
