  1. what does bah mean??

  2. There are a couple of flaws to your plan.

First, BAH is awarded based on where you are assigned, not where your spouse chooses to live.

Second, there are huge (gigantic!) penalties for attempting to defraud the government

Third, you new "wife" could decide she wants to take advantage of your situation and file a 'lack of support" case against you to collect the entire amount of the BAH -- which she would be completely entitled to as your wife.

Fourth: You will be unable to date anyone else while you are in this farce of a marriage.

How about you do things the honest way (read your Army values tag -- maybe it will jog your brain as to what honesty means).

  3. My husband and I got married a year ago being that BAH was a concern. From what I remember BAH depends on where you are stationed. If you are stationed over seas then your BAH would be what ever the cost of living is there. Don't just marry someone because you are concerned with extra money BAH can bring you though. Hope this helps!

  4. If you have to ask total stranger whether you should marry this girl or not, you already have your answer.

  5. BAH matters on your home station...regardless of if you're NG, USAR, or Active.  If that was the case, everyone's families would be moving to the most expensive places in the States in order to capitalize on the BAH.

Even if y'all were to get married and she lived in Cali, your unit is based out of the East Coast.  You'll get BAH for the area you're living in because that is where your unit is based.
