Should i or shouldnt?

I recently found out that a friend of mine accused my son whos ten of stealing his wallet.He had lost his wallet a few days earlier and said he had searched his house and when the kids were together on thier own one day my son found the wallet under a settee.When i questioned my son about it he said that his son whos also ten told him his dad had lost his wallet and sugested that my son look under the settee for it.Nothing was missing from the wallet and the father said nothing to me about it.All i knew was that my son was proud about finding the wallet and told me that he had found it.I found out about the accusation from another friend who said that the father in question had told him about it in the pub and said that he thought my son had stole it and put it back afew days later.should i confront him about it ,im worried about the reprocusions both kids go to the same school and im worried about how this will affect the kids realationship as i know h**l confront his son, hes just texted me asking why i have not been in touch .

If i was in the situation, I would have to confront the situation because i wouldn't want someone bad mouthing my son for something he didn't do. The fact that his friend suggested that he looked under the settee kind of explains who actually hid it there. Did his father ever think that his own son may have hidden the wallet not necessarily stolen it. kids do that, they hide things especially money, I Remember i used to collect what ever money was left around the house when i was young for years and store it in my safe box when my mum found it, I had about £200 in savings!

In all the man acted inappropriately and should be confronted for this, Its unfair and an injustice for something your son didn't do! Wont do his reputation any good if he is known as a thief.
