I m going into highschool next year and i want to do a sport--i want to do volleyball and cheer--but my mom won't let me do both cause theyre at the same time. I'm going to make freshman for both for sure, and maybe JV for volleyball, but i dont know which one to choose. I think im better at volleyball and i've had way more experience in it, but i always wanted to be a cheerleader and i really like doing it(not so much learning it, though) im gonna be honest--i would like saying im a cheerleader probably a little more than i would like to cheer. i really like volleyball though---errghh.

what i was htinking though that i could do freshman cheer and then volleyball out of school in spring so i can try it. cause i know if i don't start cheer now, ill never be able to get into again because people would advance far and when im in 10th grade i'd have to be in JV which i wouldnt be good enough for with no experience. HELP ME!! which one should i do?!

  1. Honestly, I'm a VB player. In this case though, I would go for cheer. You already said you could possibly make JV VB, you can make it next year also- if you keep up with practicing. You can make freshman cheer this year, have good experience, and brag rights, lol. In spring you can go back to VB. Then, if you decide that you really enjoyed cheer, you can do it again next year, or make the VB team. The choice is up to you for next year.

  2. VOLLEYBALL rocks!!

  3. yeah. at my hs u can only do one!! idk weather or not to do vb or cheer!! like im eqally good at both. like for both im pretty sure im going to make varsity but idk wut one wuld be funer!!!!!!!! UGH!

  4. i have the same problem next year!

i dont know what to choose band or volleyball!

i love band and im a good flute player...

but im a great volleyball player and i love to play it but i cant be in both!

so my advice for you is to pick the one that is all year long so you are always active.

cheerleading you have football,basketball,pep-rallys and stuff

and volleyball is only for one season.

  5. i have the same problem!

but im going to be in 7th grade next year. and cant decide what to do. cause i have always dreamed of cheering cause everyone in my family did. so please let me know what you are going to do and how it works out for you. but im in the EXACT situation but im 2yrs younger. wow this is weird. please let me know how everythin works out for you!

  6. vball!

  7. I've done both. I was on a competitive all-star cheerleading team for a year. I quit because it took up too much time and money. This coming year will be my second year on the varsity volleyball team. For me, I loved cheerleading, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE volleyball. It's the best sport ever, in my opinion. The choice is yours to make but if I were you I'd pick volleyball.

  8. Choose Volleyball because u r out their doing somethign instead of just standing their yelling and doing absolutly nothing. I was almost a cheerleader and now im glad i chose volleyball. Choose volleyball

  9. I had to choose between VB and Baseball...I went with my heart and chose VB....No one is going to make that decision for you....You need to decide for yourself and not look back. I am sure there are pros and cons for both, but if someone decides for you your always gonna say what if.

I went with what I loved more, I was really good at both so it wasnt something I need to learn. It seems you need to learn the cheers and stuff so it more of a conflict for you. Choice one that you wont regret and good luck.

  10. I am a cheerleader, and I love it. I made a lot of new friends, I just love the rush. Cheerleading is something you really need to work at, and be passionate about. It is one of the most difficult, and dangerous sports. Unless you take it seriously, I suggest volleyball. But If you want to come, learn and have fun and make new friends. Join Cheerleading. :]

  11. im a guy so i do not know hows its like for girls but i play volleyball and i made tons of friends....many of my friends are cheerleaders and there seem to be always alot of drama...Plus if your good at volleyball you have a better chance of getting looked at for college for volleyball

    my opinon is play volleyball

  12. Volleyball!

It sticks with you, even when school's not there.

I played on the school league, and a traveling team for the off season..you meet lots of people and it definitely gets you looked at for college!

  13. I personally think that you should do volleyball because this IS the volleyball section (lol) :-]...but volleyball is great...i really don't know about cheerleading because I've never been one (but in my school you can do both!)...Volleyball keeps you in shape and keeps your adrenaline up...I would do volleyball since you have the experience of it and, hey, you can say your a jock!
