I'm a freshman this year and I'm not sure what position i should play. I am 5"6 and 120lbs. at Tight end i cant block that well but i can catch like nobody's business. also if i play free safety I'm a good tackler and I'm fairly fast (my 40 is 5.3 ) I want to play the position that's best for the team. which should i play?

  1. Dude,

You are wayyyy too small for a tight end. You would be facing guys over 200lbs to block. It has to be safety or maybe wide receiver.

  2. The position for you? Punter.

  3. definitely a little small for H.S. TE, and if you can't block there is no point because most H.S. tight ends block 70-80% of the time. Go with free safety, and get in the weight room.

  4. Well since you are only 120 lbs you should probably play safety, but I think the ultimate decision should be up to your coach. Just ask him he will tell you. Also you need to work on your speed. Dont get me wrong you are at average speed, but you need to work on it. You can do this by running sprints. If you really want to play tight end I suggest putting on some weight also.

  5. If you can catch and run, go for wideout if you can, but if the choice is between TE and FS, go for the defensive back

  6. definetly saftey
