I wasnt to sure if this deal was good or not, i looked up the carfax history and it says it has 14 records, i havent actually paid yet to check out the report, i was just wondering if this bmw was worth getting, I also read other peoples questions and answers about how long a bmw 325 lasts for, so far i've seen lots of answers saying it will last for 200k miles easily, but i am also afraid that since this car only has almost 35k miles, it might have more problems such as kept in a garage for long period of time or just broke down , or been in the shop its whole life getting worked on.

If anyone has any answers or suggestions please let me know.

  1. No, don't get this car.

    1) 92 was the first year of the e36 model, and you should never get a first year model, especially one of this age.

    2) The price doesn't seem that good.

    3) If you like that body shape, you should look into 93+, 92 did not have Vanos.  Only 93+ had them, which mean better low end torque.

    4) Its low mileage, but some times its better to be driven.  You want to make sure the rubber parts have not hardened over time.

If those things don't bother you, then go ahead an get it.  Its a great car and if maintained properly, it will easily last a long time.  Engine and drive train are great, interior will fall apart first.

  2. I would question the low miles a lot.  Also time also wears down a car.. Those cars do pretty good to 125 to 150 but then they are worn out and teenagers buy them and run them into the ground..

  3. Sounds like a good deal to me...make sure you test drive it and have it checked over by a mechanic before you buy it though...and get that Autocheck and/or Carfax report!  FWI, whenever a car is registered, inspected, or a title is issued, a record is issued to Autocheck.  So the fact that it has 14 records means nothing unless you know what those records say!  Pay for that report! :-)  Good Luck!

  4. take it for a test drive.

if you like the ride, buy the car.

as long as it has been looked after, it will last.

these are great cars. nice to drive, and good luggage space too!

can't comment on the price though, i'm in the uk. sorry.

  5. Yeah thats a good deal. i have a 92 325i with 130k and i thought that was low mileage for a 16 year old car. its great though, i paid 3500 when i bought it with 120k on it. had it for over a year and no problems. def get it checked out but if nothings that bad on it, its all gravy

  6. NO! NO! NO!.. don't waste your money on that old car, don't you know we are on 2008 and you are trying to buy it at a high price.

Since, you wanna used car as well as luxurious one, you can get one better than that one why not a HUMMER H2 2003 or a HONDA from 1998-2005 model(GO TO YAHOO AUTO, AND CLICK ON USED CAR) you can even get some dough for your pocket.

Just think positively that car is 222 old my dear.

  7. i wouldn't ; i think you're being ripped off actually .  older BMW's are usually cheaper regardless of how many miles they have, but they also cost a lot of money to repair and replace even minor things .  so even if you have no problem affording to purchase it, the maintainence will kill you -- but if you think you have the money you'd need to maintain it, you'd be better off just getting a newer one; you can buy a 2000 bmw for like 6-8k depending on the model .

  8. The blue book value, assuming a private sale, automatic transmission, and that it's a coupe, and using my zip code, is $3,925 in excellent condition.

  9. it does't sound like a bad deal, but I would run a CARFAX to make sure there was never any odometer rollback
