Should i put a video camera in my luggage or in my handbag?

i am traveling to india and i am taking this brand new camera for someone. should i put it in my luggage or in my hand bag to avoid custom.

You wont avoid custums no matter how you do it .but you should carry it so it wont get riped off.

The handbag because if your luggage gets lost and also have you seen them taking them out of the plane?The just grab it then they just throw it on the carrier.
