  1. I'd start Mcfadden...I think he will have a great season and will help the Raiders to win 7 or 8 games. J Jones isn't used to the Seahawks system which is a pass 1st offense.

  2. You should definitely start Julius Jones. You already know right away that he'll be starting in week 1. Darren McFadden might not become the Raiders' starting RB until the middle of the season. Find out as much as you can about the Oakland RB situation before you make a definite choice. If you don't hear if Darren McFadden is starting or not, start Julius Jones just to be safe. McFadden might get some carries, but not as many as Jones.

  3. Camps are just now reporting & we haven't seen what Mcfadden can do vs the big boys & i already say start him over Jones but........ pay attention to camp / preseason

  4. You need to trade for another starting back. Neither are posted as being the #1 RB and Oakland will more than likely run by commitee.

If you dont have the means to trade. Start Jones. Mcfadden may not start for the Raiders in the opener.

  5. Hi Super Paper Mario,

Your decision should largely be based on the fantasy atmosphere come September.  Right now is way too early to figure out week 1 lineup and anything can happen during the preseason.

Still, if you want to forecast, you need to think about which of these RBs will get the most carries during Week 1.  McFadden is going to be a great RB for years to come, but at this point Fargas is the starting RB for the Raiders.  Fargas got a new contract in 2007 and you have to think that he'll get a large share of the carries in the beginning 2008.

Jones, on the other hand, seems to be sitting alone at the top of Seattle's depth chart.  He may lose some carries to TJ Ducket, but will get more carries than he did during his years in Dallas.  When all else fails you go with the guy who will get the lion's share of carries, and that guy is Jones in this scenario.

I currently have McFadden ranked 23rd overall and Jones ranked 35th overall, but that is because I think McFadden will eventually win the starting role.  But for week 1 I'd start Jones.  If you want to see all of my RB rankings, check out the link in my source list.  On my site you can create your own RB rankings, then generate a printable cheat sheet for your draft.  It's free.

  6. Ouch...

I'd go with Jones, but if those are your options, you may be in trouble...
