Should i put kitchen tiles for backsplash on a diagonal?

i am having bisque tile installed as a kitchen backsplash...i want a simple look, more attention drawn to the countertops...should i put the tile on a diagonal or straight?

Straight lay for the backsplash... so you can focus on your countertops. If you are doing it yourself then defiently straight.. diagonal is more complicated for a diy.

i have my counter top on the diagonal & my backsplash straight.  i think backsplash on the diagonal add so much personality to the tile & is a fabulous design.  go for it!

I personally don't like diagonal tiles...maybe you can do subway tiles across and then make a square border with diagonal in tiles of slightly different colour within the square.

Both ways can look sharp! Your choice of tile direction is a personal decision - with factors such as is there upper cabinets above where all the tile will go?

If wall cabinets do not cover all of your tiles - a special border tile is a nice way to blend the tile to the wall.

If you just can not decide - purchasing a few sample tiles and viewing different combinations may be the best way for you to decide.
