When you leave your car for any reason You need to put your hand brake on as well as park the gears. At the end of your driving test put on the hand brake or you fail your test.

Do you want your car to be where you left it when you return to it?

Make sure your handbrake is on too.  I was told to do this when I took my road test since I tend to forget to put it on.
