  1. Well if you love to do it you should continue doing it. You don't have to have acting has a job. Do it for fun! Be in community plays and stuff. Just don't give up on acting stick with it and eventually you could make it.

  2. only quit something when you know you are able to leave it behind without a care in the world if you have a passion for it then you wont be able to just walk away from it

  3. Don't quit! You obviously have a passion for it. Perhaps it's just a matter of putting yourself out there more. Go to local auditions. Are you just into film? Are you willing to do Theatre? Just take parts and make your talent known. If you agent hasn't found you any work yet, he/she's not very good.. unless the problem is in the auditions, if so.. don't sweat over 'em! Just be confident! Find monologues that appeals to you personally and rehearsal them with every detail. Ask critiques from your acting teacher [if you have one] or someone who knows a thing or to about acting. There are also plenty or books on acting techniques. Hope you live your dream!

  4. Don't quit. The vast majority of actors go for years and years without getting a job. You aren't going to get a role the first time you go out and audition. It could take a while. In the meantime, take more classes and keep trying out for school plays and community theatre and open castings. The more experience you have, the more likely you are to be cast.

  5. Not if you're hot.

  6. If acting is your FULL TIME PURSUIT, then YES, give it up. It does not pay for food on the table and rent.

Make it a part time job.

  7. Well I think that you should keep it realistic. you may not have any jobs now, but later you could. and if you are an adult then get a sustainable job first, then worry about acting. you know?

if you love it, then dont quit.

  8. You have no idea how many times I have heard this. I was so inspired by these questions that I made a video about the biggest mistakes aspiring actors make.

If I had to guess, you are making some of them too, such as depending 100% on your agent to get your auditions for you.

    Or

Not really knowing how to audition.

    Or

Thinking that taking classes once for a little while is all you really needed to do to start your acting career.

    Or

Not realizing that starting an acting career is like starting your own business. If you don't know how to run a business and don't realize that you have to market yourself to your customers, then you are destined for failure just like hundreds of thousands of aspiring actors.

Or, in line with that last point,

    Don't know how to network.

My advice would be to go back to school and stay there and learn a good, solid acting technique. Also learn how to audition. And if you can take a scene study class, take one of them too. If you really want to be good, you must continue to train.

And learn the business of acting. I can recommend an excellent book by Brian O'Neil called Acting As A Business: Strategies For Success. Read it. It will enlighten you.

    Good luck to you!

  9. You should NOT quit because of not getting anything.  It takes time.  Quitting is no way succeed.  Have you made sure your agent is SAG franchised?  Look in the paper for open casting calls.  When you find auditions, audition.  Look for talent competitions.  Talk to your agent maybe.  Just keep trying.  Do something else while you wait for your break.  Just don't depend on acting because you can never be sure that you'll always get the job.  Look for something to earn you a living, then try to do acting on the side.  Good Luck!

  10. If your good and you love acting you shouldn't quit because maybe someday you will be a very famous actor! But it's your choice to choose.

  11. Never give up. If you love it, do it, follow your heart.

  12. If you really love it then keep going. A lot of people don't get it until years later. You just need to keep trying. You lucky you parents let you my parents don't but I love to act and I am willing to wait until I can.
