  1. You should never quit or reduce any medicine without the advice of your physician.  There are side effects that can be dangerous if you stop or cut down on the dose without being monitored.  Call your doctor back and talk to him about your concerns.

  2. Why are you on cholesterol medicine? If you had a stroke that is a good reason to continue with your medicine. You should just never quit taking medication unless instructed by your physician. If you live by a teaching medical school go there for help or to get a new physician.

  3. Just my opinion, but the person you should be the most honest with is your doctor. Tell the doc your concerns, ask if there are ways to treat some conditions another way. I was able to reduce my cholesterol through improving my diet. The doctor is working for you, but if you are not honest with him/her, then they cannot do their job properly.
