when should i remove the empty shells after the cockatiel babys have hatched

  1. Not at all, she may eat them for extra calcium. I usually leave them in the cage or box and the parents take care of them. Please leave your birds alone for right now at least a week, while they are trying to hatch out the babies or they could abandon them or kill them.  


  2. Your babies must be in some kind of box/home.  Don't interfere with them, you don't need to take out the shells.  The mother will eventually push them out.  

  3. It is a good thing so that other birds can "move in" and you get to keep the shells becuase they're prety! Its a win win!

  4. After the are completely out of the shell. Do not try to help them out of the shell its in their nature to get out by themselves.

  5. I am no expert but I have always heard that the shell provides some nurishment for the babies.  I would just google it if I were you cuz I would want to do anything to put them in harms way.
