  1. Before replacing the wood, pressure clean the entire deck. Use a product that will help you take the stains out of the old wood. Allow that to dry for 72 hours. Now, replace the wood, you don't want to pressure spray your new wood the way you do your old. Once you are done with that, put a layer or two of wood sealer on there. Will help with the older wood to keep it better and protect your new wood. You simply let the wood settle in over night and then put the sealant on the next day.

Allow that to dry for the time alloted on the sealant, they vary. Normally around 24 to 48 hours. Then you can paint.

Good luck! I did just that type of project years ago... lots of hard work! Make sure you wear sunblock our you'll fry. Did that too... wishing someone had reminded me to use sunblock. lol.

  2. You need to let the wood dry out. I'm not sure when you replaced the boards but I would wait until the following spring before putting any kind of finish on the deck. I recommend cleaning the deck first with a deck cleaner and letting it dry for about 48 hours. Then use a good quality semi-transparent stain on the deck. I prefer semi-transparent because solid stains have a lot of pigment in them which tends to rub off over time.

  3. always  let  pressure  treated  wood  dry  out for at  least  one  season.  Or  if  you  replaced  in  early  spring, perhaps it may be ready  to do by  fall.

However  do  not  paint a  deck.........use a  good quality  stain  either  semi-tranparent  or  solid  stain,  otherwise   you  will  constantly  be scraping, sanding and  re-painting
