  1. why Ireland? why do you so desperately want to move here? Thinking of running away is a very drastic thing to do. you need to listen to your parents and respect them.

Hills aren't always greener far away.

  2. Why do you think you need to live here? You cant possibly expect your family to get up and leave just because a child has a dream to live somewhere he has never been before...stop living in a dream!

what are you planning on doing ?? living on the streets here?

you cant travel on your own at that age - you would be classed as a unaccompanied minor - your parents would have to sign a load of stuff, drop you off to the airport and someone from the airline would be assigned to mind you until you got to Ireland and then you would have to be collected in Ireland by a guardian - its not as simple as buying a ticket and flying off to Ireland!

  3. Running away would only create major problems for you. Why do you *need* to live in Ireland? While the USA certainly has its share of issues its not a bad place to live. My advice to you is to study hard, work hard and when you are 18 you can make the decision on your own. Listen to the people answering your question, it is all good advice. I hope you get to see ireland but running away isn't the best way to accomplish this...

  4. NOOOO! You clearly havent thought about this at all! Your only 13! How do you plan to get money, school, a place to live and food? Dont do it wait to your older, maybe you can go to university here. Trust me i've always wanted to go to the states, so im going to make it a goal for me to go to uni there! Maybe you and yout family can go on a holiday? Just dont do anything stupid! Its so dangerous for people to be on their own in a place they dont know!

  5. ok well first of all you cant run away to ireland, you would need parental consent to travel alone on an airplane becaues you are under the age of 18. soo i really dont htink that would work outt...

if you REALLY wnat to move you have to prove it to your parents. and start looking up houses and jobs that your parents woudl likee. and you have to give them legit reasons on why you want to move there and why it woudl be benificial to them: free education system-- they wouldnt have to worry about paying for college, less stress- ireland is more laid back, idk if you have family there or not if you do-- closer to your relatives; they arent getting any youngerr, the recession in the us coudl affect themm etc. etc.

    goodluck, i hope i helpedd

  6. How will you make a living at 13?  I can hardly afford to live on my income now, and I am an adult. Things are really expensive in that area of the world.

It is best to get your education, including a career field, and then go there as a mature adult. You will enjoy the experience much better from a home rather than from the streets.

Running away does not change anything. You take you with you. Learn to live with later, rather than immediate gratification.

My son wanted to leave home at 16. I also had him go out and price apartments, etc.  He came home and decided home wasn't all that bad, since he had no way to pay for anything. I'm sure his son will want to do the same; it is a way of thinking for restless children. But in not studying and applying himself when he should have, rather than dreaming of living elsewhere, he slowed his progress quite a bit.  Why chance that, when you have no reason to grow up so fast? Enjoy your youth and your lack of responsibilities, and when you are old enough, you may decide that another part of the country is best, and Ireland is just a place to visit.

I was there recently, and am quite happy to be back in Sunny California.

  7. Running away is a serious problem. especially if youre only 13..how do you plan to survive?Do you have relatives in Ireland who can care for you?

According to the National Runaway Switchboard, an organization that takes calls and helps kids who have run away or are thinking of running away, one in seven kids between the ages of 10 and 18 will run away at some point. And there are 6 million to 7 million runaway and homeless kids living on the streets around the world.

You wont even be allowed on the plane alone without parental consent

    Talk to your folks

  8. I doubt they meant for you to runaway. Don't runaway. In 5 years you can take off for Europe after you graduate high school if you want. Five years will fly by, believe me. And then you will be more prepared to take the trip or make the move. Stay put and enjoy these years with your parents and school mates.

  9. Make seeing Ireland your goal.  This way you'll have something to push you to make better grades in school.  Better grades mean get a better job.  Get a better job make more money.  Make more money and then a little more to visit Ireland (as many times as you want).  Even better:  get a job that has you working in Ireland say 6 or 8 months of the year.  "Anything" is possible if you  put your mind to it !!!

  10. You're 13. This means you're legally a minor, and cannot work full-time to support yourself.

Therefore, running away is not an option for you. I suggest you think about the reality of supporting yourself, as opposed to the fantasy. It a lot of hard work, paying rent, bills, working a full-time job etc. I was supporting myself entirely at 16 year old. My days were long and hard. I'd go to school 8am till 4pm, work from 6pm until 2 or 3am, walk home because I couldn't afford a bus, sleep for a few hours and do it all again.

Being a young person is something you should enjoy, and it's easier to enjoy when your parents are supporting you, believe me.

And what does Ireland have that you can't get where you are anyway?

  11. oh sure....go for it....because no one at the TSA has anything better to do than round up idiots and send 'em back to their Mommies

besides, you can't buy a airplane ticket if you are underage....or were you planning on swimming?
