  1. Save gas?  Get a the SS Chevelle, and don't forget, get the 454 engine.  HUGE gas savers :D!

  2. Wow hi, morbid answer!  If you dont know how to ride- Id say get a car and buy a used scooter or small bike for zipping around town...  I have many friends that lanesplit across the bridge and while I do worry about them sometimes, I know how long they have been riding and that they have had drops here and there, and know how to get themselves out of bad situations.  The key is learning how to fall correctly.  If you dont have the time for that- get a car and learn how to ride on weekends.  Plus riding in the rain sucks, and gets really really cold.  Bart is a really convenient way to get into the city, and bicycles are super easy to get into the city and cruise around on... Heathy alternative with no gas!

  3. You need a car.

  4. You'll get a lot more use out of a car.

  5. its about ur purpose....if its for u alone...go for a bike...for ur family also...a car would be better.....also keep in mind the traffic jams....

  6. Depends on where you live.  If you live somewhere that has snow and ice in winter you may want to get a car first.

If not, definitely a motorcycle.  Invest first in the MSF course, they usually supply the motorcycles and upon completion of the course most insurances offer a discount and some states waive the skills test and go ahead and put the endorsement on your license. The class is fun and you'll learn a ton.

Second, invest in the motorcycle and gear.  Helmet and other protective clothing and proper footwear are key to keeping you in one piece should an accident occur.  Also, if there's a chance you could get caught in the rain, especially if you rely on the mc as your main transportation get some good rain gear.  Don't skimp on it, because riding in the rain is no treat if your boots are full of water and your clothes are sopping wet.  With the right gear it can be just as fun and practical as riding in the sun.

    Best wishes!!

  7. I would get a motorcycle!

    1) they are cheaper than cars.

    2) Great milage!

    3) They look cool!

  8. It depends on what type of climate you live in. If you live in a climate that has cold winters, then I'd save for the car with the good gas mileage, because you don't want to be riding a motorcycle in the winter. It's really not safe. I don't know if you're planning on keeping whatever vehicle you have now or not. But if you live in a year-round warm climate then I would go for the motorcycle. My Dad drives a motorcycle back and fourth to work everyday and it works really well for him.

  9. depends on where you live (heat0 and your commute/ knowledge motorcycle and licensed? some cars add comfort air conditioning/radio cage around you to protect!

  10. get motorcycle, because with out getting into politics that much the oil companys dont want high MPG cars, because then then would loss money.

but anyway yes i would get a motorcycle because your more aware of your surroundings, you really dont have any blind spots, and most of them look cool!! OH YA there alot cheaper then cars and the insurence is also cheaper

EDIT: Jenna i live in north east PA and i only have my M1 licence and no car licence and i ride my ZX6R everyday cept when it is snowing and slippery, or raining badly

  11. Bikes are a bit unsafe. You can think of getting a Prius.

You need to do just two things to save on Gas

    #1 Read this article

    http://janatanews.com/2008/june/how_to_m...

#2 Swithch to a fuel efficient car. Calculate your saving using

  12. I asked a question similar to this.  Check out the answers at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

It seems that there may be other considerations that might void out any fuel savings such as the claim that motorcycle tires only last about 7,000 miles

  13. Motorcycles are definitely cheaper than any car with good gas milage... if cost is the only factor, then u should get a bike...

But when motorcycles get into accidents, the consequences is most of the time fatal.. From my own experience, i had seen a couple  ... so think about it..

  14. here's the thing.  Dying in a motorcycle accident wouldn't be such a big deal.  It's *not* dying that's the problem.  For the rest of your life, every day would be exactly like the day before.  Someone would lift you out of bed and carry you to the dinner table and spoon feed you.  If you could eat solid food.  Someone would have to sit you on the toilet and clean you afterwards.  Someone would have to bathe you.  But it wouldn't be fun, because you couldn't feel a thing.

Day after day after day.  For 70, 80, 90 years.  And you could kiss s*x goodbye.

  15. Even though I love riding motorcycles, I would recommend getting a car.  Having a car would be more practical, you can carry more in a car, can drive in all weather, dates don't mind riding in a car in the rain as much as on a bike.  Get a car, save your money then get a bike, then you have the best of both worlds.

  16. Motorcycle.  I bought a new Mustang last year and It's really fun to drive on the weekends.  With gas the way it is, I commute with my bike.  Living in SF, you should be able to bike all year round.  Even with the best hybrid cars, a bike gets better miles / gallon.

Be sure you take your states' motorcycle safety course, wear a helmet, and enjoy!
