Question:

Should i say it in different tones?

i am teaching my budgie how to say hello. I noticed i say it in different tunes. Should i or should i say it in 1 tune repeatedly? I dont think i can remember the tune i said to him, but i will try what ever it takes if i should say it in the same tune! Thank you

  1. you don't really need to say it in any kind of certain tune, I think they will pick up on it.

    My birds learned to talk, I don't think I used different tunes.


  2. When teaching your budgie to talk, be sure to say the word(s) slowly and deliberately. Also peak in a low-pitched tone. Budgies will repeat words in a higher tone and at a faster rate than they are taught. If you teach your bird slow, drawn-out words, then when he/she repeats the word, it will sound more "normal" instead of gibberish. For example, if you want him/her to say "prettybird," say it in a low (i.e. male-sounding) and slow voice, enunciating each syllable: "pret-ty-bird, pret-ty-bird".  Just remember, low and slow, and you should eventually have a talking budgie.  =)
