  1. I think if you brush the dog often it will reduce the shedding... sleeping outside isn't a bad idea just to get your point across to your mom, but I wouldn't make it a habit :P

    Good luck with that

  2. Here are some ideas:

    1. Try giving the dog regular baths to help the smell and shedding. Also maybe there is some special shampoo you can buy to help reduce shedding.

    2. Is your dog being fed a good quality diet? Do some research to make sure your dog is eating a good quality brand of food. Having the right nutrition will help reduce shedding and help your dog live healthier.

    3. Try out this hair brush: http://www.furminator.com/

I saw a friend who had this brush and it actually works!  This hairbrush would probably be one of the biggest things you could do to help the shedding because it actually gets out all of the dead hairs that are just stuck underneath the other hairs. I believe you can buy it at petco, I saw an advertisement of it on a t.v. in the store. I think the website also has other deshedding products that might help you too.

    4. Is the dog potty trained? Your mom may not want to hassle with potty training the dog if it starts living inside. Maybe you should offer to do all of the training and cleaning up and see if that helps any.

Basically if you can keep the shedding and smell to a minimum and train the dog well so he behaves decently inside, your mom may see that having a dog inside isn't so bad. Or just get your own apartment or something. Good luck and I hope this helps you out.
