Although historically he has had bad performances against the Tigers, this year he's been a different pitcher. Start him.

The tigers are hit or miss. But I am betting on a miss today. Cliff Lee has been spotty but I still think over the course of the season it is better to start him every chance you can get.

Yes the Tigers offense has been junk for majority of the year, even though Cliff Lee has struggled of late he should eat toss a good game against such a weak team

Lee has been erratic in his last couple starts...but he is generally good for a win and 5-8 SO's.  He may hurt you in ERA and/or BB's.  Evaluate the strengths of your team vs. your opponent this week.  Play Lee if it looks like you have a chance to win in the categories of W's and SO's.  

Don't play Lee if you expect to completely dominate your opponent in W's or SO's (because you don't need him).  Also, don't play Lee if if winning this week hinges on winning one/both of the categories of ERA and BB.  

Lee is scheduled to start twice this week, so keep these things in mind for later in the week when you have a better idea of what categories you are doing well in and which categories you need to make up ground in.
