When I'm older I'd like to work in musical theatre. What seemd most obvious to me was to join a theatre school. When i arrived i found out it takes place in quite a run-down building without barre's mirrors or a stage.I've made new friends and its great fun but there are 30 kids in each lesson ranging from 4-15 and the singing lesson consists of singstar.I've made friends but its just not orgainised.Do you think i should stay or leave?

  1. Ok, friends are wonderful and hopefully you have their contact informaiton so that if you should go you can always stay in touch with them.  But, more importantly is you.  Is this school giving you what you need to learn about the field of Musical Theatre?  Are the lessons helping you grow as an artist and student?  Not to mention the safety of the building there.  Is the school a legititmate educational institution or a waist of your time.  These are questions you should ask yourself and based on the answers you find then decide whether you should stay or go.

  2. u should stay keep on trying

    do not give up

    keep in there

    hang in there

  3. well... I would say go. You can find something better. But before you leave check around to make sure there is somewhere else you can go, because if not than you should stay.

  4. if its not a recognized school for musical theater, its a scam. it sounds very fishy to me- i went to the chicago college of performing arts and all of my instructors were working professionals, and the theater school was a program at an actual university. the fact that they use singstar is pretty pathetic and ive never heard of a musical theater program using anything but an accomplished voice instructor as your guide (my voice instructor was still working with actors on broadway, while still teaching the course, for example). if its an accredited college, however, and if you think youd benefit from a degree in this field (you dont need one and it doesnt always give you any advantage), stick with it. are they even a degree-granting school though? it doesnt sound like it, and if not dont bother with it; go to a real college and try to get into their theater program. good luck, competition is FIERCE!
