Should i stop using Maxidex eye drops?

It is sunday today and i cannot contact my eye doctor. I've been given Maxidex eye drops and have been using it for the past 3 days. On the Consumer Medicine Information, it says "if you feel that Maxidex is not helping your condition, tell your doctor (or pharmacist)."

this morning i realized my eyes seem to be getting redder...the reason he prescribed me with this medicine is because i have inflammation of the eyes. I used FML for 2 weeks but it didn't work. He said this will be stronger and told me to use it for 2 weeks.

The Consumer Medicine Information also says "do not stop using Maxidex without first asking your doctor"

right now im not sure what to do...my eyes seem to have worsen...

should i stop using it for a day?! and contact my eye doctor tomorrow?! or should i continue using it for today?

  1. You answered your own question:

"The Consumer Medicine Information says "do not stop using Maxidex without first asking your doctor" and "if you feel that Maxidex is not helping your condition, tell your doctor (or pharmacist)."

Steroid drops like Maxidex should not be suddenly stopped.  They must be slowly tapered to a stop.  Keep taking it and call your doctor tomorrow morning.

  2. If it seems to be worsening then stop.  Consult with ur OD a.s.a.p.

U may be allergic to the ingredients.

The drops r supposed to help; not worsen.  If its worsening STOP. Consult with him so he can Rx u something eles.
