Question:

Should i study Computer Science?

I am 18 years old and i graduated from high school. i got good grades in high school and my gpa were 3.52. Now am thinking to get a bachelor degree in computer science. I am kinda worried about the fact that i can or cant handle the computer science classes.

  1. First of all, all the computer science jobs are not going overseas.  Read this page from Association for Computing Machinery for details:

    If you are interested in computer science, then go for it.  You will not be happy if you choose another major just because you thought it would be easier.

    That being said, computer science involved a lot of mathematics, so be prepared.  It is not an easy major, but if it is what you really like to do, it will be rewarding.

  3. If this is what interests you, then go for it.

    Computer science is an enormous subject - you may find a branch of it you had never heard of that really interests you.

  4. My advice would be to look somewhere else!  With things the way they are NOW, CS work is done overseas by people who will DO it for pennies on the dollar it costs to do it here in the USA.
