  1. You have the money now... travel.  OH my!! Travel.  Once you go to school, then you will go to work and you won't have the time to travel.  I'm 34 and planning my first trip overseas.  I didn't have the time or the money to travel before.  (I don't really have it now either)

Hope you have a great time!!!!

  2. Study abroad! Why not look for a film course abroad, that way you can do both at the same time?

Here are a few examples of film courses you can take overseas, there are many more at the website www.GoAbroad.com ...

There are literally hundreds of programs on that site under "Study Abroad" or "Degree Abroad" that offer courses in film and filmmaking, those are just a few. Just click around and see what interests you. If you wanted, you could take courses in a few different countries and then have the credits transfer back to a main institution that you choose later.  I definitely recommend studying abroad, it's the way to go!

  3. I know it may be kind of an obvious answer but you should definitely study abroad. I studied abroad in Italy and it was the best experience of my life. I knew people who traveled before or after studying and it's not the same. When you study abroad you go with a group of people from your school and meet so many other students while you're abroad and can travel every week-end! Also, if you do your traveling while you're a student, you can get student discounts. Use http://www.studentuniverse.com/  for travel discounts.

  4. Either is good. If you are interested in taking advantage of travel and studying, find a university with a suitable study abroad program, visit World Learning (SIT), enroll in peacecorps or so.

    Best of luck

  5. Both have pro's and con's. If you know what you want to study then go and study first. It is sometimes very difficult the get back into a study routine after you have traveled. If you are not sure what to study, go and travel first. You will learn a lot about yourself and it will help you decide what to study in the end. I finished my studies and then strated to travel. Good luck!
