Should i switch....?

i have a compaq presario i love it..and has been working for me very well. even with windows vista....and im thinking of going over to Apple.

would it be a good idea to get a macbook.

have any of you switched from windows operating system to apples operating system.

would it be a good move

just to let you know that my sister has had a macbook pro 17in,

for 3 months....and it's been back to apple 3times for repair.

the 1st one, they replaced, the 2nd 3rd time, they replaced the keyboard.

got it back last week and it still is screwed up. for spending about

$4000 on a computer, we expect it to work. sister had a HPvista laptop, and now wishes she had it back! but, that's just us.

Why do you want to switch?  Does your checking account have too much money in it?  A computer is a tool for the most part, whether to balance a spreadsheet, find a hot chick, or download your favorite song.  If it works, stick with it.   If you want to see something new, check out Google's new and first browser "Chrome"

The question has no right answer it depends on your needs and preferences. Since Apple computers can  now dual boot windows for a price you could still run windows apps on the mac . The question you should ask yourself is are the applications I have to have or use regularly available for the operating system I'm using. Also cost factor if this matters to you will the mac cost more with similar features and software then a pc.

I own a Macbook and like using it much more than Windows machines.  I don't have to worry nearly as much about viruses and malware, and the  software bundled with the computer is excellent.  Also, with Macs, you can install Windows on your computer in addition to Mac OS X if you really need it.  My advice is try using a Macbook at the store, and if you like the feel, go for it.
