  1. Latin is a good language to start with. The law is filled with Latin words, and several other languages stem from Latin. It also will help you with English, both grammar and vocabulary, which you will need to know really well in government careers. Take Latin!

  2. Both are good for your brain because they force you to understand about cases and declension. German, however, has the advantage of being a living language that you can speak with actual present-day Germans... the only thing about that is, they all have 6 years of compulsory English under their belts, and will probably prefer to practice that on you ;)

I took Latin and enjoyed it; it made it easier for me to learn German a few years later. I have to say the German has been a lot more useful in real life.

  3. I say Latin...lots of our English comes from there, so it'll be semi-easy. German sounds pretty cool though.

  4. Latin is the the most important language because it's the root language for all the romance languages.

Just HOW do you plan to be a Senator?  You have to be ELECTED for that and it can cost MILLIONS of dollars to get elected.

  5. Latin.

That's really cool that your school offers German and Latin! Mine only offers Spanish and French.
