  1. I would take advil or tylenol right after you get them on or as your leaving the office. If the pain is really bad piggy-back the advil and tylenol.

  2. I took an ibuprofen right before I left my house to go to the orthodontist. It helped me because while I was getting my braces put on, it didn't hurt at all. The only problem I had for about a week, was sensitive teeth. But it's different for everyone. Some of my friends had a terrible pain, while others like me, only had sensitivity. Just keep that tylenol near you!

    Good Luck :)

  3. you should probably take 1 right after you get them on b/c it will last longer. you might want to take 2 b/c mine hurt really bad. the pain wont start for about 1-3 hours after you get them on. u wont be able to eat solid foods(steak, ect--anything that requires ur teeth) and applesauce, pudding, maybe ice cream will be really good; just be careful with the spoon b/c if u hit ur teeth or mouth it will hurt EXTREMELY bad!

  4. yes because u can eat right after with out it hurting too bad because u won't want to eat tonight!!!!!!

  5. You want to take it before to try and prevent pain.  When I got my braces my mouth was soar a bit, but the Tylenol really helped.  I ate alot of soft foods for awhile and applesause became my best friend until I was able to eat solids.  Good luck!

  6. i took it after, because then it'll leesen the pain when it starts. if you take it before, you're just taking it for no reason. It normally starts to hurt 3-4 hours after you get them on.
