my dog was sniffing a fledgling (12 days?) when i entered my backyard. I took my dog out of the way and i went inside. when i came back in 20 min. there were 2 or more adult birds surrouding it 2 yards away. Will its mother take it back in or should I take care of it

  1. Well if the bird is actually hurt then I would take care of it. But if it's just kinda sittin' there I would just leave it alone. Birds are smart.

  2. Just watch it and if the parents don't accept it than you should take care of it.

  3. Leave it alone..the parents are caring for it.  The birds you see near it are most likely it's parents.  Just make sure you do not let your dog get to it again as it may be hopping around your yard for a while until it leans to fly.  Also, it is illegal to take in and care for wild birds..they are protected by law.
