Should i take care of my pierced belly when....?

Question

i forgot to ask my piercer that when you take a shower do you have to take care of your belly button with h2o or salt water wright after you come out of the shower or you just have to wipe it so it would be dry..and how long should i not go swimming in the pool and ocean?

You need to use soap or somthing to clean it. If you don't clean it 2 times a day or so then it will get infected and that's not a pretty sight to do.

Isn't H2O and shower water the same thing ? hee . Listerine is the best antiseptic for that .Just pour a little on after your shower .

When you get out the shower just wipe it dry and wait at least 2 months before you get in the ocean,or the pool, but if u just cant wait thers no Huge risk so just bring some salt water with you and clean it as soon as you get out the water.By the second month i had changed my ring and i stop cleaning it 3 times a day and now 3 years later its perfect i even went 2 get a tongue ring! they usually tell you just dial soap and water. i was told not to use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol or anything like that. it can be harsh.

i used to have my bellybutton pierced but i took it out,

but when i did have it, i didn't use salt water to clean it, in the shower i just used soap and it didn't get infected or anything like that.

and i did mine in like aprilish so i wouldn't know about the swimming, but obviously don't go swimming like the next day or anything, wait about 2 weeks to a month.

or just call the place you pierced it at and ask, lol

I used to just dry it but before you get out of the shower, just make sure you take your fingers and move the ring so there is no soap in the hole.  You just can't go swimming in a pool for about a day or 2.  I waited about 2 weeks just to be safe, but the clorine is clean, so your prolly ok.  But the ocean is dirty i wouldn't swim in that until it has had time to heal a little.  The belly button takes a year to FULLY heal, and it gets infected VERY fast and easily.  I had mine infected abobut 7 times before it fully healed.  I have had it pierced for a year 1/2 now and its fully healed.
