i got a B at gcse math, i was in set 1 but cause of bad teachers we had to resit a module so we could not do module 9 where you could get an A. I found the work easy, but i am not sure weather to do further math at as level along with maths and physics as i want to take physics to degree level.

  1. Most colleges require an A grade for further maths

maybe you should just do regular maths A level? you need a B for that :)

  2. go for it. in all the schools around london the require a B or above in the subjects u are doing for AS.

    good luckx

  3. Okay, well further maths is a lot of work and it's meant to be pretty hard stuff so if you feel confident with it then go for it... but do you really enjoy it that much? I mean A Levels should really be subjects that you both enjoy and that will help you in the future so consider both before you rush into a decision.

Getting a B is good going at GCSE but the work for A-Level is supposed to much more for further maths!! --- saying that, if you enjoy maths and are good at it go for it!!

Even if you don't do further maths, the university will still accept you for there degree course (check out a few websites to see there course requirements just in case)...

... and as for the rubbish teacher, I know the feeling!! Just work hard and do what you WANT to and what you enjoy, don't put too much pressure on yourself at this stage in life!

  4. B is amazing welll done

i know ill struggle to get a c

    :) good work !

  5. hello there... im taking a level maths at the moment and in my opinion there is a HUGE jump from GCSE to A level.

I got an A at GCSE and didnt realy revise either!  But the Alevel is hard work and lots of revision.  Therefore if you work hard id recomend taking maths but further maths idnt a good idea.  I think most colleges require you to have an A for further maths anyway.

  6. if you're doing physics you do need maths really, i got a B at GCSE today, but i dont think i'd consider doing it at a-level cuse i found it hard.

but if you are confident and found it easy, why not?

  7. My centre only reccommends to do it if you achieved an A but speak to someone impartial in your centre and explain the situation, look at the break down of your marks for modules etc and see what your teachers advise. Is it in place of General Studies? Good luck and well done on the results.
