i was a 4.0 student all 8th grade year. i have a chance to apply for honors. i am scared that i will fail the class though. i heard the teacher did not teach well and you had to work independent. i was wondering if i should try it or not.

  1. Go for it!

  2. I WASN'T GOOD AT MATH AND I STILL TOOK HONORS.... AND WELL YEA U HAVE 2 WORK INDEPENDENT AND IT IS HARD BUT IT PAYS AT THE END KNOWING U GOT HONORS WICH HELPS U IN COLLEGE!! JUST TRY IT.... BY THE WAY I REALLY DIDN'T DO DAT GOOD SO I WENT BACK 2 REG. MATH,.. BUT I STILL GOT SOME HONORS... BUT U'RE SMARTER U SHOULD TRY IT...

  3. Talk to your 8th grade math teacher and ask if he/she recommends you take the honors course.  Also, talk to a school counselor to see what he/she recommends.  Ask about free tutoring programs at your school in case you have problems with the class.  If you decide to take the class, talk to the teacher about when he/she is available for extra help.  Good luck with your decision!  Honors classes will help you when choosing which university to attend!

  4. You should totally try it.

It will give you insight of what college will be like :)

  5. If you were 4.0 in eighth grade, you should definitely take honors math; it's always good to challenge yourself, and it's always good to learn how to work independently early on in your high school career, if that ends up being the case.
