im 16 5'9 and only 120lbs with 12% body fat with a little experience in karate

  1. if you want a sportive art, by all means yes. if you are interested in any art...do it.

    just understand what your goals are...and choose the art/school that will best fulfill those needs.

    and dont listen to those mma guys who tell you what they do is the only thing that works, and the ultimate streetfighting art. it isnt. it isnt even close.


  2. Be mentally prepared and dedicated first. Fighting isn't a cakewalk, just ask Jose Canseco.

  3. It is an amazing sport, but very violent. Be prepared for lots of brutal hits and hard training

  4. Yes. It's a pretty well rounded sport--you will learn how to punch like a boxer and kick like a kickboxer, not to mention gaining some valuable ground fighting skills. It will also teach you how to use your surroundings---like a fence--to your advantage. It will improve your coordination and endurance and will keep you in fantastic shape. Just be prepared to be completely humbled!

  5. The younger you start training the better off you will be.
