  1. With things like this, I always recommend starting at the doctor. That way, you can rule out that this is a medical issue and then decide if this is just a normal thing for a 4 year old to do.

    Good luck!

  2. She may not be wiping very good. If she wipes herself, she may just need some tips on how to get cleaner, or use wet wipes. You can check and see if it is red. If it is only when she urinates, it could be a UTI and then you would need to take her to the doctor.

  3. I agree

take her to see her doctor...Make them run a urine culture-do a test that has the answer that day, and then a culture-usually takes 3-4 days for the answer....she may have a urinary tract infection....my daughter did this a while back and we didn't know what was wrong with her.  My mom even looked at it as, could my husband be hurting her...which is something that would NEVER happen.  But we didn't know what was wrong.

    She could be wiping wrong

    She could have a UTI

She could have a Yeast Infection

She could have something else wrong...have you tried "looking?"

My daughter messed for awhile with hers and would get cuts every-now-and then from her long fingernails...needless to say, they dont stay long now.

Maybe she is just curious....it may seem like a hurt to her...I know when my daughter started "discovering" herself...she would laugh and say "it tickels"  ummm  that is very uncomfortable for a parent.  How do you tell them...not to do it?  lol  We finally just told her, it is okay for you to "check yourself out" but do it in private, and if something hurts, she needs to tell mommy and/or daddy immediately so we can make sure nothing is wrong-especially after the lovely UTI.

    Good Luck hun

    Hope she feels better soon!

  4. She is probably not wiping good. Get her to use the wipes that are wet and if that doesn't help in a day or two i would take her. (Unless she is in a lot of pain take her now)
