  1. use chinchilla sand, they like it better than getting wet and they might get a cold having a bath, too.

  2. it wouldn't HURT him unless you did it forcefully but why would you give him a bath?

I don't know anyone who has ever given their hamster a bath, or had reason to.   You might be better off wiping him down with baby wipes.   The only rodents Ive ever witnessed having baths are rats, guinie pigs, rabbits, and ferrets......and chinchillas but those were only dust baths.

I don't think its the best idea.

  3. ABSOLUTELY NOT! HAMSTERS DON'T NEED BATHS AT ALL!!!!

  4. I wouldn't. Hamsters can get chilled very easily and can actually cause pneumonia quite easily as well. I would check with a vet or pet store before continuing to bathe him. They would know best.

  5. I wouldn't know why you'd need to. I HAVE given my hamster a bath, on a vet's recommondation when I took my hammy in. So no, they WILL NOT kill him.

My hammy didn't exactly like them, to say the least, but they did keep him a little cleaner, and I think that in my situation it was necessary (no, he didn't have wet tail.)

  6. NO

  7. Hamsters clean themselves. Its not very safe to do it with water. I would give them a sand bath (like chinchillas) or just buy a hamster brush. That's what I did.

  8. I once read a book on hamsters, it said to NEVER give your hamster a bath, even if it's just a wet paper towel, oh yeah, NEVER use soap. Your hamster will take care of bathing itself by itself. Don't even try it, take my word for it!
