  1. intense throbbing headaches are usually associated with poor hydration. i get these headaches on really hot days, especially if i dont drink enough water. i also take motrin the night before and the morning of a race but not as part of training or regular routine. as others have mentioned it can mask pain and lead to further injuries. good luck.

  2. No because after you take them you may not hurt that day but the next day you will hurt terribly. You could seriously hurt. So instead of doing that, warm up, stretch slowly and thoroughly before you start, and make sure you are hydrated.

  3. It depends because what if the do drug tests and they find the painkillers in ur blood e.g. codeine then they'll think ur using them to cheat.

  4. go ahead if u want to. but if u do that u wont feel your body in pain and maybe u will hurt something in your legs or feet and u wont feel it intil the next morning.

  5. Well, it really depends. If the pain killers are subscriptions than no, unless you have to take them right before running. But if it's like a motrin or asprin or something like that, it would probably be ok. just dont take too many.

  6. im sure dey wont mind if u rescheduled it. it is a injury and u wont be able 2 do ur best if ur hurtin. pain killers wont make u do ur best.

  7. Absolutely!

  8. go to a doctor and find out why you have a headach

  9. Yes you can take painkillers before a run.  But if you get frequient headaches...check with your doctor, just to make sure there is no underlying problems.

Sometimes if your not properly hydrated, that can cause headaches.  Make sure you hydrated.  Don't run in the heat of the day....

The only thing you have to be careful of is to make sure your taking it for headaches, not sore knees, shins, etc. before your runs, because it can worsen your injuries because your running masking the pain.  It could do more damage.

    Good luck and run happy:)

  10. I wouldn't recommend taking painkillers BEFORE you run. You could seriously hurt yourself and wouldn't even know it since your pain receptors would be blocked. Instead, warm up, stretch slowly and thoroughly before you start, and make sure you are hydrated. Dehydration can cause muscle cramps AND headaches. Then, if you still end up with a headache after you're finished running, drink a Gatorade (or something similar) and take some ibuprofen.
