this weekend im (23) goin on a date with a girl i met at a friends party last week. Im really excited to go but I havnt dated in a long while and Im confused if i should tell her that i am into martial arts and not too far from getting a black belt. I mean she will ask to know more about me and that is one achievment im real proud of but will she feel initimidated by me if I tell her? I would not wanted her to think im some psycho who is prone to violence or something as that is something im so not and hardly tell girls this. I guess it depends on the individual but would you be concerned if a guy told you that on a first date?

  1. that would be a good thing to say. cuz its one of your intrest/hobbies. she will think its cool your involved and that you stay exercising.

  2. I would find it a turn-on.  I'd be like "oooh, this guy can really protect me"... haha, guess I'm old fashioned but I totally like the idea of a guy who can save me...

Go ahead and tell her - just don't spend all night talking about it.  Be sure to ask her lots of questions and show interest in her.

  3. No not at all. That is actually a very interesting hobby! I would actually want to know more about it. If that girl doesn't like it, then s***w her, she wouldn't like you for you. just tell her! You never know she could possibly already have a black belt!? :) Good luck!

  4. It's probably not the best thing for the first date, maybe the second or third.

Unless she brings hobbies or sports up, don't mention it. She probably wont think you're psycho, but just be safe =]

  5. It's an interest and a passion of yours, I see no reason why you shouldn't tell her.  If she thinks you're a psycho for it, that only shows how closed minded she is, and not worth your time to begin with.
