Ok im going to planned parenthood for the first time this up coming week to get birth control. My mother does not know that i am going.so i just wanted to know if i should tell them i have insurance or not? Because i dont want to pay a lot (i dont make that much money at all) but i also dont want my mother to find out that im going to be taking birth control(btw my mother and i are on the same insurance plan). Will the insurance people send my mother a notification about what the insurance is paying for or if she calls them could they tell her thats something that they are paying for? or would it jus be cheaper to just tell planned parenthood that i dont have insurance and pay their copay?

  1. yep. tell them you do not have any insurance.

  2. Tell them you have no insurance and they will go over you're income and see if you are eligible for free birth control. Or birth control for cheaper.

Also tell them you want it confidential and that you don't want your parents to know.

If your in CA, the state will pay for it if you have no insurance and a very low income.

  3. tell them you have no insurance

  4. Where I live, planned parenthood gives free birth control (the pill) and condoms to teenagers under 18. So, check with them first. Maybe you could call from an anonymous number.

  5. DO NOT  tell them about insurance..they will send a statement home to your mom telling her of what they covered!!!!  And planned Parenthood will prescribe birth control to you even if you aren't 18 yet...but do not forget to ALWAYS  use a condom....I promise you that is much safer and let's face it "cleaner"... I wish some had told me before I had my daughter at 17.  I didn't know that birth control was available without parental consent...do it for yourself .....

  6. I would just tell your mom.  She would appreciate it, honestly.

  7. One they will not be able to prescribe BC if you are under 18.  And if you go there, and not want your mother to find out then you have to pay cash.  She will get an explanation of Benefits, and if she actually goes through it...then she will know.  Be honest with your mother, and tell her you want to go on birth control.  If you are going on it because of s*x then tell her you heard that it helps with cramps, and tell her you've been getting bad ones.  Good Luck!
