  1. I really think this is an excellent trade for you.  In fact, I'd do it even if Jennings wasn't part of the deal.

In fantasy, I actually have Matt Shaub rated ABOVE Vince Young.  Vince turns the ball over too much and the Titans have not improved his receiving options this year at all.  Shaub on the other hand has Andre Johnson back healthy, Kevin Walter blooming, and Owen Daniels becoming a top tight end.

Wes Welker is a good WR, don't get me wrong, but I think Reggie Bush is a better value.  I think he comes into his own in year three.

That leaves Greg Jennings as a throw-in.  I view him as a top 20 WR easily so getting him is just icing on the cake.

Take it before the other guy wakes up!

    Good luck this season.

  2. Hi Adadis,

First off, if you're counting on Vince Young or Matt Schaub to be your starting quarterback you've got problems because neither of those guys should be in the top 15 QBs.  Because those guys are backups at best, let's just remove them from the equation because they are a wash.

So now what we're looking at is Wes Welker for Reggie Bush and Greg Jennings.  In terms of pure fantasy point output, Welker was the best of the 3 in 2007, putting up 168.9 yards over the entire season (11th among WRs).  Jennings was close behind with 164 points (12th among WRs).  Reggie Bush was 26th among all RBs with a total of 129.9 fantasy points.

So, if you're going strictly on last year's stats, you'd have to assume that this is a great trade for you.  However, you'd got to think that Jennings won't put up as many points with Brett Favre retiring.  Conversely, Welker should excel again in the NE offense.  So, it really boils down to if you have enough able-bodied RBs on your roster (do you really need Bush?) and whether or not you think Jennings will produce similar numbers to 07.

If you think Jennings will perform as well as last year, I'd pull the trigger.  If you don't think he will perform as well, I'd hold off and stick with Welker because Reggie isn't the fantasy God that people make him out to be.
