  1. no

  2. I think Cantu is going to keep his production decent this year. He has revamped his game ( as such when he had a great year with Tampa a few years ago ), and pretty much will play every day.

I wouldn't make this trade only because Cantu will probably end up with a 25 Hr. / 90 RBI / 90 Run season. Longoria, although he is on a hot streak, even with the Ryan Braun comparison, will probably be in the 30 HR / 100 RBI / 90 Run category. Unless you already have another great 1st baseman in the wings, AND surplus pitching, I wouldn't do that.

You would be essentially trading away an extra 5-6 homeruns and 10-20 RBI for a pitcher who will win you an extra 6-7 games over the 2nd half. Not to mention, he'll probably win more, and have more run support, with Longoria hitting as well as he should.

  3. i wouldn't do that unless maybe it is a keeper league. shields has been a very solid #2 so far this year and looks to be getting better as he adjusts to major league hitting over the past 2 seasons. cantu is not a great player, but he will give you solid power production. the upgrade from cantu to longoria is not worth a #2 starter unless your league heavily favors hitters.
