  1. It's supposed to be a wonderful place to visit.  If you're friendly to people you meet then they'll be nice right back.  You can run into racist jerks pretty much anywhere, even on your own street, so don't let that keep you back from seeing what you want to see.  You can also run into that when people are in bars and clubs.  But the cities, especially Dublin, are very international now with all the economic growth they've had over the last several years.

Take your trip and have a great time!

  2. Go and see it for yourself, and form your own ideas. I think anyone could have a good time there.

You didn't state your interests, but my advice as a Dubliner, would be to go and see Ireland and only spend a small amount of time in Dublin. The real Ireland is in the countryside and smaller towns and cities. That's where you will get the essence of the country. If you like small cities, try Kilkenny, Galway and Cork (there are more ofcourse, but I recommend these), and for charming towns you are spoilt for choice. Kinsale (near Cork) has a wonderful ambience and really good food if you're into dining out. For scenery, go to Killarney. Glendalough (Co. Wicklow) has beautiful walks and hikes. There is a good buzz where nightlife is concerned almost anywhere. Go and enjoy it! My tip for travelling in Ireland is to rent a car....public transport is possible, but it will cost as much and will frustrate the h**l out of you!

I sincerely hope you have a good time and that you don't run into any unwelcome behaviour. Oh, and bring an umbrella...you don't go to Ireland for the sun!!!

  3. To be honest I think that Ireland is very accepting of different races. Of course there is always a few people who let everyone down but you will be very unlucky if you come across them. I would suggest hiring a car and planning out your trip as being organised will really ensure you have a lovely, stress free time in this laid back country!

This is an excellent website that will be very useful to you: http://www.weloveweekends.com

It has the cheapest car hire and accommodation, along with flights, travel insurance and much more. It also allows you to book activities and pay for them in advance, which basically takes all the stress out of your trip! I hope you enjoy your time in Ireland!
