  1. Judo focuses more on stand-up and clinch grappling while using a gi, while jiujitsu is generally more ground grappling orientated, which may or may not involve wearing a gi. Honestly, if your goal is to work on you greco skills, I would recommend actually going to a wrestling gym or club to improve your wrestling rather than a martial arts gym.

That said, Judo would probably be most applicable to Greco-Roman Wrestling.

Also good luck, I wrestled 103 back in my freshman year of high school, and it definitely was a tough weight class to compete in.

  2. The objective of Judo is to ground the opponent using Nage Waza (throwing techniques) or sweeps, trips, etc. and then use Ne waza (ground techniques) to choke the opponent out or make them submit. Brazilian Jujitsu (I don't know much about Japanese Jujitsu which is a lot older) came from Kodokan Judo and was invented by the Gracie family. There is a lot of emphasis on ground fighting. Using joint manipulation to make your opponent submit or to choke them out.

  3. ju do what Ju want, lol  try aikido , is is great for locks and throws.

  4. You should stick with grecoroman. Its very rare to find that in the states. Judo and folklore are far more popular. I would say to be a prime athlete keep up greco roman but learn judo concurently.

Randy couture...arguablly one of the best heavyweights in mma ever- was a greco roman wrestler for most of his life.

  5. Krav Maga, its the Israeli martial art, they use it in the military, The entire art is based on fighting from a disadvantage (larger foes, 3 to 1, man against women, weapon against fist). With your size it would be perfect.

  6. ur a well rounded wrestler so judo will help your throws and teach you how to control your opponents body and different locks to use on them. i prefer Brazilian jui jitsu in this case because judo is very form based and less applicable to other forms of fighting.

  7. Judo is restricted jiu jitsu.

Jiu jitsu is less worried about breaking bones, dislocating joints and causing permanent injury.

Judo has been refined to the point where it can be practiced as an Olympic sport.

    Should you try it?  ABSOLUTELY!

Try it for a month and see if it does anything for your wrestling. If not, go with the previous suggestion and find a wrestling gym.
